All-India painters’ camp from today

BELLARY: Samskara Bharati will organise ‘Bhavya Bharath,’ an all-India painters’ camp in Hampi for three days from Friday, in association with Kannada University of Hampi, which will be inaugurated by Karnataka Minister for Kannada and Culture at Bhuvana Vijaya Auditorium the University campus.

BELLARY: Samskara Bharati will organise ‘Bhavya Bharath,’ an all-India painters’ camp in Hampi for three days from Friday, in association with Kannada University of Hampi, which will be inaugurated by Karnataka Minister for Kannada and Culture at Bhuvana Vijaya Auditorium the University campus.
Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Vidyaranaya Bharathi Swami will grace the occasion.

Giving details of the camp which will be organised for the first time in South India, Ramesh Vaidya, secretary of the reception committee said, the camp which was confined to north India all these years has now moved south and will make its beginning at historic Hampi.
Chi. Su. Krishna Shetty, an eminent artist and art critique said, in recent years, Indian art has been invaded by foreign culture. He said the time has come to preserve our ancient art and paintings which is facing a threat in the name of modern art.
Yogendraji, All India organising secretary, Samskara Bharath said, the objective of organising the painters’ camp at different parts of country is to educate the mass about the contemporary problems facing the country.
The Rang Bharo camp which was organised by Samskara Bharathi in Bihar got tremendous response with participation of 36,000 child artistes. Again when the camp organised a similar programme at Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh, the response was remarkable, he said.

Krishna Shetty said well-known artistes from eight states including Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Orissa, Maharashtra, Gujarat, would participate in the camp. Contemporary artists like Murali Lahoti (Pune), Vasudev Kamath and Vijay Athrekar from Mumbai, Kalyana Rao Shetty (Sangli), Shivaji Thupe (Nasik), Surendra Dhumal from Gujarat, J.S. Kanderao from Gulbarga and others will participate in the camp, he added.
Two electrocuted Two persons were electrocuted when they came in contact with a live wire in Hampasagar village in H.B.Halli taluk. Superintendent of Police K.V. Sharatchandra said, Varamaraju was working in the fields when he came in contact with a live wire accidentally. In her bid to save him, a woman, Seetha tried him to pull him and she too got electrocuted.
