National Doctors' Day: City hosps celebrate & felicitate commitment

Bhopal: Medical institutions and hospitals around the city celebrated National Doctor's Day on Monday with jovial attempts to address what ails both doctors and patients under their ambits. Doctors were felicitated at most hospitals and their commitment to patient care was lauded and acknowledged.
Special events were organised at AIIMS, BMHRC and People's hospital to mark the occasion.AIIMS Bhopal organized a quiz competition for doctors, in addition to which MBBS students had a ball with singing and dancing. A felicitation ceremony for retired doctors was also hosted by the institution.
With the theme ‘Healing Hands, Caring Hearts’, BMHRC marked Doctors’ day along with their foundation day, and they held a felicitation ceremony, with doctors performing at their cultural event. “Such events are a refreshing breather for doctors as we're hardly able to meet and spend time with each other. We cut a cake at People's hospital and then I joined in the BMHRC festivities ,” said Dr Chandra Shekhar Rawat.
Doctors in the city were warmly surprised by wishes. “I received a lot of good wishes, flowers from patients and people. I delivered two babies today and as it happens to be CA Day as well, the children’s parents said that they wish one of them becomes a doctor and the other a CA.” Dr Priya Bhave Chittawar, a gynecologist shared with TOI.
Doctors’ Day was celebrated at Sagar Multispecialty Hospital too.
