Chandigarh: Three more women cadets of Mai Bhago Armed Forces Preparatory Institute (MBAFPI) for Girls, Mohali, have been selected for pre-commission training at Air Force Academy, Dundigal, in Hyderabad.
The training will commence from next month.
The three selected cadets are Harnoor Singh from Pathankot, Kritee S Bisht and Alisha from Jalandhar, who is already undergoing training at the Naval Academy.
Punjab employment generation, skill development and training minister Aman Arora congratulated these cadets and said that their success would surely motivate girls from the small towns and villages of Punjab to explore opportunities in serving the nation as commissioned officers in the defence services.
The Punjab govt had last year approved the NDA Preparatory Wing for Girls at MBAFPI.
The second batch started its training from April 2024 onwards.
Director of MBAFPI, Major General Jasbir Singh Sandhu (retired), said this achievement would further boost their efforts of sending more girls from the state to various armed forces pre-commission training academies. tnn
