Chandigarh: In pursuant of ministry of home affairs directions, UT home secretary Nitin Kumar Yadav was relieved from the Chandigarh administration here on Thursday, to enable him join his new assignment with the Government of India. Yadav has been appointed as the joint secretary, department of commerce, ministry of commerce and industry.
The appointment committee of the cabinet approved the appointment of Yadav, a 2000-batch Haryana cadre officer, to the new post on May 30.
Yadav had assumed the home secretary’s charge in Sept 2021. His three-year term was to end in August later this year.
All the charges held by Yadav will be looked after by UT finance secretary Dr Vijay Namdeorao Zade in addition to his own duties. tnn
