Dozen new Covid cases in Tamil Nadu

CHENNAI: The state health department recorded 12 new cases on Covid-19 on Wednesday, when 29 patients were discharged from the state registry.
There were no deaths reported on Wednesday and the active cases went down to 162 cases compared to 179 cases on Tuesday.
On Wednesday, samples were drawn from 507 people. Chennai reported eight new cases on Wednesday followed by two in Salem and one each in Cuddalore and Krishnagiri.Chennai had 89 active cases followed by 18 in Cuddalore and 15 in Coimbatore, the state bulletin said.
“We recommend people wear masks, maintain social distancing and wash hands frequently,” health minister Ma Subramanian said.
“This will prevent Covid as well as many other infectious diseases,” he said.
