ReshaMandi lays off 80% of staff as it fails to get funding

ReshaMandi, a Bengaluru-based B2B marketplace specialising in silk yarn products, has laid off 80% of its workforce due to its failure to secure Series B funding.
The company has been significantly downsizing its operations since the last year. From 500 employees in January 2023 to around 100 by the end of the year, the company scaled down heavily in the past year. Meta restructures Reality Lab, laying off small portion of workforce

Facebook parent Meta is restructuring its Reality Labs division, which’ll now be divided into two groups - Metaverse and Wearables. The restructuring comes with pink slips for some. However, the exact number is not known yet. The Metaverse unit of Reality Labs will focus on Oculus headsets, while the Wearables unit will work on other wearables, including the company's Ray-Ban smart glasses. US DoJ sues Adobe

The United States government has filed a lawsuit against Adobe, accusing the software company of deceiving consumers by hiding early termination fees and making it difficult for customers to cancel their subscriptions. Wait continues for the online gaming industry

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman chaired the 53rd GST Council Meeting in which several decisions on improving trade, easing tax compliance, and offering taxpayer relief have been taken. Google has launched the Gemini app in India, now supporting nine Indian languages alongside English. The app aims to make the AI assistant more accessible to users in the country.
