Man beheaded over property dispute in Tamil Nadu

CHENNAI: A 60-year-old man was beheaded by a relative over a property dispute near Manimangalam in the wee hours of Monday.
Police said Dayalan of Athananjeri village was found dead in front of his under-construction house. Police registered a murder case and sent his body for post-mortem after arresting his relative, 25-year-old Parthiban.
Investigations revealed that enmity was brewing between Dayalan’s wife Selvi, and her brothers over an ancestral property.Though the family gave her a share of the property, Selvi constantly pestered them for a larger share. She kept picking up quarrels with them and hurling abuses whenever she saw them.
Following this, the matter was taken up by the village panchayat heads, who directed the brothers to either provide Selvi with a larger share of the property or give her money and sort out the issue. Selvi's two brothers who agreed to this were upset. They hatched a plan to kill Dayalan.
One of Selvi's nephews, Parthiban, followed Dayalan, saw him sleeping at the construction site, and beheaded him. Police arrested him and a court remanded him in judicial custody.
