Recruitment of 2,553 doctors soon: Ma Su
Chennai: Tamil Nadu govt has filled 1,021 vacancies of doctors since April and the remaining 2,553 vacancies will be filled soon, said health minister Ma Subramanian.
Speaking at the 188th convocation ceremony of Madras Medical College on Friday, Subramanian said the recruitments were done by the Medical Services Recruitment Board and doctors were given postings at the places they chose.

“Doctors willing to join the services can apply for the MRB exams till July15,” he said, adding that the examinations would be conducted in a transparent manner. Subramanian also awarded degrees and gold medals to outstanding graduates on the occasion.
The ceremony also showcased significant investments in medical infrastructure. Recent additions include a biplane cathlab worth 10.5 crore, a heart-lung machine worth 1.5 crore, and an ultrasound machine for 35 lakh. These advancements underscore MMC’s dedication to providing state-of-the-art medical education and healthcare services, the minister said.
He said MMC has also made strides in organ transplantation, with numerous successful heart and liver transplants. Subramanian later attended the graduation ceremony of govt medical college and hospital at Omandurar govt estate.
