Two teenagers, R Sudarsanam and R Lokesh, were killed in a van collision near Kabilarmalai in Namakkal. They were learning to drive without family knowledge.

NAMAKKAL: Two teenagers who were learning to drive a van were killed when it collided with an SUV near Kabilarmalai in Namakkal on Monday night.
The deceased were identified as R Sudarsanam, 14, and R Lokesh, 17, both from Ayyampalayam.
Police said the boys ventured out around 11pm on Monday to learn driving, without the knowledge of their families.
Sudarsanam was driving the van, which belonged to Lokesh's father Ramasamy.

When they reached the Kabilarmalai-Paramathi state highway, an SUV driven by P Vignesh, 37, from Erugur in Erode district, collided with the van. The SUV was enroute to Erode from Paramathi.
"The van was severely damaged, and both teenagers died on the spot," police said.
The Jedarpalayam police retrieved the bodies from the mangled van and sent them to the govt hospital in Paramathi-Velur for a postmortem. A case has been registered and further investigation is on.
