AAP holds protest near BJP's headquarters, demands Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal's release
NEW DELHI: AAP leaders and workers protested near the BJP headquarters on DDU Marg, demanding the release of Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, who is in CBI custody over the Delhi government's excise policy.

Kejriwal had previously been arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in a money-laundering case related to the same policy.
On March 21, Kejriwal was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate.
Though he was granted bail by a trial court, the Delhi high court stayed the bail.

Protesters convened at the AAP office close to the BJP headquarters, voicing slogans against the BJP and calling for Kejriwal's release.
They held placards criticizing the "misuse" of central agencies and calling for an end to "dictatorship."
A senior police officer noted that measures were in place to prevent protesters from marching toward the BJP headquarters as no permission had been granted for such a protest.
"Barricades have been put up and paramilitary personnel deployed at the site to stop the protesters," the officer stated.
He added that if necessary, protesters might be detained, as Section 144 of the CrPC is already in effect at DDU Marg.
