Telangana weather forecast: Monsoon to cover entire state by June 10, IMD issues yellow alert

Hyderabad saw varying rainfall for the fourth consecutive day. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a yellow alert for Telangana due to expected thundershowers, lightning, and gusty winds. The monsoon is set to cover the entire state by June 10, with different districts experiencing varying rainfall intensities.

HYDERABAD: For the fourth consecutive day, the city received rainfall at several places. The highest rainfall was recorded at Musheerabad with 34.5 mm, followed by Balanagar with 19.8 mm, Uppal with 18.8 mm, Patancheru with 16.8 mm and Khairatabad and Secunderabad with 16 mm and 15.8 mm respectively.
In terms of cumulative average rainfall, Begumpet circle of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation received the highest rainfall of 14.8 mm, followed by Musheerabad with 13.8 mm, Uppal with 11.7 mm, Secunderabad with 11.4 mm and Ramchandrapuram and Patancheru with 8.5 mm.

In the state, Vikarabad district got the highest average rainfall of 4.7 mm, followed by Bhadradri Kothagudem (3.8 mm), Sangareddy (3.6 mm), Hyderabad (3.3 mm), Yadadri Bhuvanagri (3.2 mm), Medchal-Malkajgiri (1.9 mm), Khammam (1.5 mm) and Suryapet (1.1) .
IMD issues yellow alert
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for the state on Sunday. "Thundershowers with rain accompanied by lightning and gusty winds are likely to occur at isolated places in Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Mahabubnagar, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet districts of Telangana. While the monsoon has completely engulfed southern and central Telangana, the entire state will be covered by June 10," an IMD official added.
