Pema Khandu, 11 cabinet members sworn in to run BJP’s govt in Arunachal Pradesh

GUWAHATI: Pema Khandu was sworn in as the chief minister of Arunachal Pradesh for a third straight term in state capital, Itanagar Thursday and joined an exclusive club of BJP chief ministers who have consecutively served three or more terms in their respective states.
Khandu, 44, joins Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who served record terms as chief minister of Gujarat, Shivraj Singh Chouhan of Madhya Pradesh and Raman Singh of Chhattisgarh.

Khandu and the others took their oath in the presence of Union home minister Amit Shah, BJP president and Union health minister JP Nadda, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma and Sikkim CM Prem Singh Tamang, among others.
Governor Lt Gen (retd) Kaiwalya Trivikram Parnaik also administered the oath of office to Chowna Mein, who previously served as Khandu's deputy for another term along with 10 other cabinet ministers.
Ninong Ering sworn in as pro tem speaker
Former assembly speaker PD Sona, BJP state president Biyuram Wahge, Mama Natung, Balo Raja, Gabriel Denwang Wangsu, Ojing Tashing, Kento Jini, Nyato Dukam, Wangki Lowang, and Dasanglu Pul, the widow of former CM Kalikho Pul, and the sole woman member, were also sworn-in to complete the 12-member council of ministers.
Ninong Ering, a veteran legislator, was sworn in as the pro tem speaker of the legislative assembly by the governor during a ceremony at the Raj Bhawan later in the evening. The governor also summoned the first session of the newly elected assembly on Friday. Soon after Khandu was sworn in, PM Modi congratulated him and his cabinet colleagues on X. “This team will ensure that the state develops at an even faster pace,” wrote PM Modi.

Khandu presided over the inaugural meeting of the newly formed cabinet, during which a 100-day work agenda for the govt was approved. He also authorised a disbursement of Rs 100 crore under the CM’s Social Security Scheme, which will benefit 80,000 individuals of disadvantaged sections of society
