JAIPUR: A tenant allegedly stabbed his 55-year-old landlady and her seven-year-old grandson to death at Raghunathpuri in Sanganer police station area of the city on Monday evening.
Police said Manoj Bairwa, the tenant, fatally stabbed 55-year-old Prem Devi with a sharp knife around 5pm. When her seven-year-old grandson, Gaurav, began screaming aloud at witnessing the attack, Bairwa chased him and killed him.
He then disposed of the two bodies in a water tank within the house. The act was, however, seen by some neighbours in the colony, said an officer.
While Bairwa attempted to flee, the locals chased and caught him. They handed him over to police. Bairwa told police that he used to have quarrels with the landlady because of her protests to his returning home drunk. “The accused arrived home intoxicated on Monday afternoon,” said a police officer.
