KANPUR: After seeing a minor boy with his minor daughter, a lawyer and his elder brother kidnapped the boy and subjected him to torture at a farm house in Bithoor area of the city on late Friday night. The accused allegedly attacked the boy with rods and sticks, but also tried to pluck his toe nails, brutally pulled his ears and lips with pliers. The police acting on the complaint rescued the student and admitted him to Lala Lajpat Rai hospital.
The police have registered a report and arrested the lawyer and his elder brother.
Meanwhile, taking the side of the accused, a group of lawyers created ruckus in the office of Commissioner of Police on Saturday morning demanding immediate release of their counterpart. The 14-year-old daughter of a lawyer living in a locality in Bithoor is a student of class VII. She used to attend classes at a coaching centre in Kalyanpur area, where she became friends with a 17-year-old youth, who stays at his grandmother’s house in a nearby locality.
On Friday night, the girl and the boy met in Ishwari Ganj market. Meanwhile the girl’s father who was passing by saw them. He then reprimanded his daughter and sent her home and allegedly rebuked the student in public. It was when the boy resisted, the lawyer, along with his elder brother and his associates, forcibly took him to his farm house. The student was held hostage in a room and beaten for three hours. The lawyer also called the student’s father and threatened him of dire consequences. On the information of the boy’s father, the police raided the farmhouse and rescued the boy. Additional deputy commissioner of police ADCP (West) Brijendra Dwivedi said that on the complaint of the student’s father, a report was registered under the section of kidnapping, assault, abusing and threatening. “The girl student’s father and uncle have been arrested,” said ADCP further.
