Man kills neighbour for diverting dirty water to his house
Kanpur: A man allegedly hacked his neighbour to death and critically injured his wife following a dispute over draining out waste water in Akbarpur Birbal under Sajeti police station in Ghatampur area of the district late on Saturday evening.
The police have arrested the accused and are investigating the case and admitted the injured woman to Lala Lajpat Rai hospital.

Arvind Nishad (30), resident of Akbarpur Birbal and a class IV employee in the Civic department, had a dispute with his neighbour Moolchandra Nishad (55) over draining out waste water in front of his house for a long time. On Saturday, accused Moolchandra entered into a scuffle with Arvind over the same issue. Later, he attacked Arvind with an axe.
Arvind sustained serious injuries and died on the spot. When Arvind’s seven-month pregnant wife came to his rescue, the accused repeatedly attacked her with an axe seriously injuring her.
On being informed by the villagers, the police reached the spot and sent injured Mamta to a nearby community health center. From there she was referred to Lala Lajpat Rai hospital after her condition turned critical. The police called the forensic team and conducted the investigation. Police station in-charge Brajmohan said that the accused has been arrested. tnn
