Boy drowns, elderly man crushed to death in Nagaland

Two youths drowned at Doyang dam reservoir, a boy drowned in Laruri village, and a person was crushed at Rekizu ward. NSDMA reported damages in Chuchuyimlang village, Mokokchung district, and Noksen subdivision. Damage also reported at Awotsakili village, Zunheboto district, and Kikruma village in Phek district.

Dimapur: A day after two youths drowned at Doyang dam reservoir in Wokha district on Monday, a seven-year-old boy drowned in Laruri village under Meluri sub-division in Phek district while a 73-year-old was crushed to death by a falling retaining wall at Rekizu ward under Pfutsero sub-division in the district on Tuesday following incessant rain and stormy weather in the state.
Updating on the reports of damages across the state, the Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) said nine households at Chuchuyimlang village under Mokokchung district were severely affected by heavy windstorm. In Noksen subdivision under Tuensang district, 36 households were severely damaged by windstorm.
A delayed report received here said a house was completely damaged at Awotsakili village under Zunheboto district.
A mudslide caused by incessant rain was reported from Kikruma village under Phek district.
In Kiphire district, damages to public infrastructure and households were also reported on Tuesday.
