Ladki Bahin Yojana & power bill waiver will get Mahayuti good response in state polls: Mushrif
Kolhapur: Senior NCP politician and state minister Hasan Mushrif said people’s response to Mahayuti in the upcoming assembly election of Maharashtra will be ‘chhappar phad ke (abundant)’ following the announcement of the populist schemes like ‘Ladki Bahin Yojana’ and power bill waiver for farmers.
In the recent budget, state finance minister Ajit Pawar announced various populist schemes despite the doubts raised by MVA parties over the funding of the schemes.
BJP’s success in the Madhya Pradesh assembly polls held a few months ago is largely credited to the ‘Meri Ladli Behena’ scheme there.
‘Ladki Bahin Yojana’ aims to provide a monetary grant of Rs 1,500 per month to women in the 21-60 year age group who belong to families with annual income of less than Rs 2.5 lakh. State govt also has decided to waive the power bills of farmers.
“From July, the implementation of the schemes will start. Once they are rolled out and money starts getting deposited into the accounts of the beneficiaries, everyone will realise that Mahayuti will give a good fight in the assembly election. There are other factors as well, for instance, there will be a large number of rebels in each party. During the Lok Sabha elections, the situation was different. We believe these schemes will help create the situation that will help Mahayuti. We will get the ‘chhappar phad ke’ response from people,” said Mushrif.
