LUCKNOW: An alleged fraudster of Shine City real estate scam got a taste of his own medicine when a group of fraudsters in connivance with a former sub-registry (land) official in Mohanlalganj got his land registered in the name of a Chinhat resident by submitting a fake identification of the fraudster.
The alleged fraudster, Amitabh Srivastava, is lodged in Varanasi jail and as per the record of registry office he signed the sale deed in favour of one Pankaj Mishra of Chinhat on August 24, 2022.

In the deed, it was shown that Amitabh was identified by witnesses named as Vipin Yadav of Sarai Karora in Lucknow and Gyan Prakash Awasthi of Gonda district. The deed was signed in the presence of the then official of the sub-registry office.
The incident came to light when the aggrieved party moved the court, which stated that accused Amitabh registered the land when he was being taken to Lucknow in connection with the hearing of the case.
“The accused Amitabh Srivastava, who has been lodged in Varanasi jail, comes to Lucknow under B warrant in police custody and while doing so he goes to Mohanlalganj registrar office and executed a sale deed for 30,000 sqmt land in favour of one ex-minister of state. The action was done in clear connivance of the state officer and police who had got him to Lucknow under B warrant,” the court had said, while referring to the plea of the aggrieved party’s counsel.
ADCP South Zone, Shashank Singh said that a case had been registered in this case and a further investigation is underway.
