Like every year, the president will be conferring the National Teachers’ Award 2023 to 75 selected awardees at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi on Teachers’ Day.

“I feel honoured that I have been selected for such a prestigious award. It was my 60:40 teaching technique that included 60% of teaching by taking students on field visits and through live projects while 40% via theory earned me the award,” said Bano.
She dedicated this success and award to her husband Mohd Tahseen, and dean Prof Vandana Sehgal and department head Ritu Gulati.
Bano is an accomplished architect, building performance analyst and environmental design educator with over 15 years of experience. She holds a Master of Architecture degree from IIT Roorkee and a PhD in environmental design from AKTU. Her expertise lies in architectural design and sustainability.
“Bano plays a crucial role in educating and mentoring aspiring architects. With a strong focus on research, Bano’s interests revolve around climate-responsive architecture, sustainable design, energy-efficient buildings, energy modeling and simulation, and building economics,” said an AKTU official.

He said her research findings have been published in reputable journals and as an accredited professional of the Indian Green Building Council, she actively promotes environmentally conscious approaches to architecture.
Bano has received International Best Researcher in Architecture Award from the Rula Awards: Research Peace Awards and the Outstanding Teacher Award from the International Institute of Organised Research.
