LUCKNOW: Lucknow University students affiliated with the National Student Union of India (NSUI), Samajwadi Chhatra Sabha (SCS)and Student Federation of India (SFI) staged a protest at the varsity’s main gate against cancellation of UGC NET by the education ministry on Thursday.
The students said cancellation of examinations is a waste of students’ hardwork, resources and time.
“Lakhs of students visit exam centres in remote areas in scorching heat just to fulfill their dream of becoming teachers. Tthe authorities, it seems, did not think of the hard work put in by students,” said a student Akansha Azad, demanding resignation of Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
