UGC-NET June 2024 examination cancelled after integrity of exam compromised

The UGC-NET June 2024 examination, conducted by the National Testing Agency, has been cancelled due to concerns about exam integrity. NEW DELHI: The UGC-NET June 2024 examination, conducted by National Testing Agency, that took place on Tuesday has been cancelled following concerns about the integrity of the exam. The examination took place in OMR (pen and paper) mode and was held in two shifts across various cities.

Inputs from Indian cyber crime coordination centre suggested possible compromises, prompting the ministry of education to take action.
A new examination will be scheduled, and the matter has been referred to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for a thorough investigation.
On Wednesday, the University Grants Commission received indications from cybersecurity authorities that the integrity of the examination might have been compromised.
To maintain transparency and integrity, the ministry of education decided to cancel the UGC-NET June 2024 Examination. A fresh examination will be organised and details regarding this will be communicated separately.
"Any individual/organisation found to be involved in this matter will face strictest action," stated the ministry.

In a related issue concerning the Neet (UG) 2024 examination, allegations of irregularities in Patna prompted a request for a detailed report from the economic offences unit of the Bihar Police.

The Supreme Court is scheduled to hear new petitions on Thursday seeking the cancellation of the Neet-UG 2024 examination due to allegations of a paper leak. This development arises amidst ongoing controversy and protests concerning the national eligibility-cum-entrance test (undergraduate) 2024. Issues escalated when 1,563 candidates received grace marks, and 67 students achieved a perfect score of 720.
