Ludhiana: Rain lashed the city for much of Monday morning. According to the meteorological department, heavy rain is expected in Ludhiana in the next two days.
It was cloudy in the city since morning and the rain started around 10.30am. The city received light rain till around noon. After the rainfall, the sky remained overcast for most of the day.
The meteorological department said that no rainfall was recorded in the city between 8.30am on Sunday and 8.30am on Monday. However between 8.30am and 5.30pm on Monday, trace amount of rainfall was recorded.
Maximum temperature was recorded at 35 degrees Celsius, 0.1 degrees below normal and 1.8 degrees more than a day before. Minimum (night) temperature was recorded at 29.2 degrees Celsius, 2.6 degree more than normal and two degrees more than a day before.
The meteorological department has issued a yellow alert for Ludhiana for the next two days, predicting heavy rain on Tuesday and Wednesday. The meteorological department website says that day temperature will rise on Tuesday and fall in the next five days while night temperature will fall in the next about six days. The website also says that day temperature in Ludhiana is expected to rise to 36 degrees Celsius on Tuesday and fall to 27 degrees Celsius by Sunday, whereas night temperature might fall to 24 degrees Celsius by the same day.
