Man hacked to death in Madurai city
Madurai: A 64-year-old man was hacked to death in front of his house near Anna Nagar here on Sunday night. Police said the deceased, R Murugesan, of Yagappa Nagar Main Road, was living with his wife and son’s family while his daughter’s family lived in Ramanathapuram.
On June 28, Murugesan’s wife was injured in an accidental fall at home and had to be hospitalised.
His daughter K Muthuselvi had come to Madurai to take care of her ailing mother.
On Sunday night, Murugesan was on the ground floor of their house while Muthuselvi and others were upstairs. Around 8.30pm, on hearing screams, Muthuselvi and others came down and noticed a few people fleeing. Murugesan was found to have been hacked in front of the house and he died on the spot. TNN
