14-year-old ends life after phone, bike dispute with dad in Meerut
Meerut: A 14-year-old student took his own life at his home in Behsuma, Meerut, after his father admonished him for using a mobile phone for prolonged hours and refused to get him a motorcycle, police said on Wednesday. Angad Rathi, a class 10 student at a private school, shot himself in the head with his father’s licensed pistol. He also has a 10-year-old brither.
Angad’s father, Nitin Rathi, a transporter, reprimanded him for his poor grades on Tuesday evening.
SP (Meerut rural) Kamlesh Bahadur said, “He went to his father’s room, took out his father’s pistol from the almirah, and shot himself. The family was alerted after hearing the gunshot.”
Police found a suicide note in which Angad expressed his disappointment with his father for rebuking him over mobile phone use and not getting him a motorcycle.Rahul Singh
