Beware! Don’t cut lanes to Mumbai coastal road tunnel

Collision course! The picture shows possible approaches to Coastal Road’s northbound tunnel on Marine Drive. The middle of the three sets of arrows indicates traffic from Princess Street Flyover, and the remaining from Marine Drive’s northbound carriageway.

The arrows show how any vehicle following a red path can endanger motorists descending from the flyover (green arrows indicate permitted lanes).On several complaints by motorists to TOI against such lane cutters, BMC has said adequate signage exists demarcating lanes, but if necessary more will be placed.
