House session from June 27, budget next day

Mumbai: The monsoon session of the state legislature will be held from June 27-July 12 and the 2024-25 state budget will be presented on June 28, it was decided at a meeting of the business advisory committee on Friday. This will be the last session of the legislature before the assembly polls, which are expected in Sept-Oct.
Govt had presented an interim budget in Feb ahead of the LS polls.

With Mahayuti bagging only 17 of the 48 seats in the state in the polls, govt is expected to present a populist budget with sops for various sections, especially farmers and women.
The legislature session begins a day after elections to Mumbai and Nashik teachers constituencies, and Mumbai and Konkan graduates constituencies. tnn
