MUMBAI: After a two-day break, rain showers returned to most parts of Mumbai on Friday morning. This brought relief to residents from the hot and humid conditions.
The rain began with thunder but fortunately, there were no reports of major waterlogging in the city, a civic official mentioned.
The official stated that public transportation services, including railways and BEST buses, were operating mostly as usual, with only minor delays.

"Generally cloudy sky with possibility of light to moderate rain in the city and suburbs" has been forecasted by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) for the upcoming 24 hours.
The monsoon arrived in Mumbai on June 9, two days earlier than the usual date of June 11. However, the rains had been absent from the city for the past two days, resulting in sultry weather conditions.
