Nashik: Five people were injured in a clash between two groups in the Nashik Road area of the city on Saturday night, the Upnagar police informed on Sunday. Two have been arrested.
The incident took place at Mathura Chowk in Vihitgaon area of Nashik Road around 11.45pm. During the clash a man also suffered a bullet injury to his thigh.
“The clash was a fallout over some financial dispute between two individuals.
The complainant, Darshan Handore of the Vihitgaon area, reported that he along with his brothers, Swapnil and Vicky, was sitting in Mathura Chowk area of Vihitgaon in Nashik Road.
Darshan said that his brother Swapnil and Ganesh Jamdhade have some ongoing financial dispute.
“While the three brothers were sitting there, Jamdhade, along with few people, came there and started attacking Swapnil with sharp weapons. When Darshan and Vicky tried to intervene, they too were beaten up,” a police officer said.
Meanwhile, the other complainant, Pratik Wackchaure of Shevge Darna, has stated that they were called to the location by Jamdhande. When they went to the Mathura Chowk area, the Handore brothers attacked them.
Also, during the clash, Vicky fired a bullet, resulting in Akash Pawar getting hurt.
