Navi Mumbai: An injured male leopard was found dead in Sakharpa village of Ratnagiri district on Saturday afternoon. The leopard had earlier attacked two persons. The locals came to know about its death after a foul smell spread in the area. The leopard had an injury in its right leg paw. The animal had first attacked a woman who had gone to clean a buffalo shed where the big cat was hiding.
She sustained minor injuries. In the second attack, the leopard attacked a worker in an under construction house. He sustained an injury to his head and two of his fingers were fractured. An official said, “The post mortem conducted by Dr Anandrao Kadam revealed that the leopard died of starvation and was around 4-years-old.” Umesh K Parida
