3 friends on way to Deoghar die in Jamui road accident
Patna: Three friends in their early 30s died when their SUV collided with a pile of bricks on the roadside and overturned into a pit near Andidih on Chakai-Deoghar main road in Jamui district Tuesday morning. According to police, the youths were trapped inside the car and died instantly at the scene.
Upon receiving the information, officers from the Chandramandih police station arrived at the location and retrieved the bodies of the three individuals using a JCB and a gas cutter machine.
The bodies were then transported to the district hospital for post-mortem examination.
The deceased were identified as Santosh Kumar Yadav from Nawada district, Gorelal Yadav from Goriya Toli, Patna, and Sahil Kumar from Jakkanpur, Patna. They were travelling from Patna to Deoghar when the accident occurred around 3am. Residents in the area said they heard a loud noise during the accident, which they initially mistook for a bomb explosion.
According to Chandramandih SHO Laxman Kumar, the driver of the SUV was likely travelling at an extremely high speed and lost control over the vehicle when he fell asleep, resulting in the accident.
