PATNA: Leader of opposition in state assembly Tejashwi Prasad Yadav on Saturday called for a “transparent probe” into the involvement of Sanjeev Mukhia, the alleged “mastermind” behind the NEET-UG paper leak. Tejashwi urged those in the govt not to divert attention from the investigation by dragging his name or that of RJD chief Lalu Prasad into the matter.
“I appeal to the govt and the investigating agency to have transparent probe into the involvement of Sanjiv Mukhia in the NEET-UG paper leak, since he is the mastermind,” Tejashwi said.
“If they fail to do so, or continue to divert and distract attention from it, I will bring into public domain photographs of Sanjiv Mukhia with various netas,” Tejashwi added.
On Friday, teams of EOU and the Patna police stumbled upon the name of Mukhia alias Lutan and his son, Dr Shiv Kumar alias Bittu. A raid was conducted at a village in Nagarnausa block of Nalanda district, but Mukhia was not found at his home, while his son is in jail for his alleged involvement in BPSC TRE 3.0 question paper leak case. Mukhia initially worked with Bihar’s biggest education mafia, Ranjit Don, before forming his own gang.
Deputy CM and senior BJP functionary Vijay Kumar Sinha had asked Tejashwi to clarify his connection with Pritam Kumar, whose name had surfaced in the NEET-UG paper leak investigation. Sinha reiterated the charges on Saturday, alleging a deep connection between one of the racketeers and Tejashwi.
Tejashwi emphasised that paper leaks have become a common occurrence in BJP or NDA-ruled states. He pointed out that even Union HRD minister Dharmendra Pradhan initially refused to acknowledge the NEET-UG paper leak. Tejashwi demanded a thorough investigation into the matter, as the “future of examinees has been compromised”. Tejashwi said since the RJD left the state govt, the third phase of teacher recruitment exam was canceled due to a paper leak in the test conducted by the BPSC.
