PUNE: Four people sustained injuries when a wheel detached from an SUV driven by an intoxicated 21-year-old and struck an autorickshaw following an accident, according to an official's statement on Friday. The incident occurred at Jagtap Dairy Chowk in the Pimpri Chinchwad area.
Police reported that the victims' injuries are not life-threatening, and they are currently receiving treatment at a hospital.

"It is a drunk-driving case and a case has been registered against the driver," the official said.
Based on initial reports, the young driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to collide with a barricade. The impact caused a wheel to detach from the SUV and hit an autorickshaw, resulting in injuries to four passengers, explained Vishal Hire, the assistant commissioner of police from Pimpri Chinchwad.
The driver has been charged under the Indian Penal Code and Motor Vehicles Act, the official added.
This incident follows a tragic event that took place about a month ago in Pune's Kalyani Nagar area, where two techies lost their lives when a Porsche, driven by a 17-year-old minor who was allegedly under the influence of alcohol, collided with their two-wheeler.
