Pune: Seven people, including five of a family from Sinnar in Nashik, suffered injuries after a truck hit their car, which then hit a motorcycle near Kuruli village on the Pune-Nashik highway on Sunday.
The driver drove away the truck after hitting one other car. Shirish Thorat (47) of Sinnar filed a complaint with the Mahalunge MIDC police.
Thorat was among the five members of a family from Sinnar.
His son fractured his right thigh in the accident and Thorat, his wife, daughter and neice sustained minor injuries. The two other men on the motorcycle —Vikas Wayjode and Ganesh Ambhore — suffered minor injuries, police said.
Thorat was on his way to drop his daughter in Talegaon Dabhade on Sunday where she is pursuing her engineering, police said, adding that as they reached Kuruli village, a truck hit their car and Thorat lost control which in turn led to the car hit the bike.
“While driving away, the truck hit another car. No one, however, was injured in that car,” a police officer said.
He said the police have the registration number of the truck and are searching for the driver.
