Caught on cam: Couple performs stunt while riding bike in Jashpur, Chhattisgarh Police issues challan

JASHPUR/RAIPUR: In a shocking incident, a couple was caught performing a dangerous romantic stunt on a speeding KTM bike in Chhattisgarh's Jashpur. The girl sat facing the rider on the petrol tank as they sped down the highway. The incident was captured on camera by the superintendent of police, who spotted them from his car and followed them to record the video evidence.

The biker, identified as Vinay, was reportedly trying to impress his teenage girlfriend, Suhani, with this risky maneuver on National Highway (NH)-43. Upon noticing the SP's car, the couple tried to flee, but the SP pursued them and successfully recorded the video, which has since gone viral on social media, attracting a significant number of views.
During the interrogation, the couple revealed that they had come to visit Mayali dam and were performing the stunt on their way. SP Shashi Mohan Singh took action against them and issued a challan to the rider. He summoned the Kunkuri police to the scene and instructed them to take necessary measures.
Acting on the SP's orders, the Kunkuri police initiated action under Section 179(2) of the Motor Vehicle Act, which pertains to dangerous driving, and issued a challan amounting to Rs 500.
In light of the incident, SP Shashimohan Singh has issued a directive to all police station and post in-charges within the Jashpur district. The instruction emphasises the need to take stringent action against individuals engaging in reckless behaviors such as performing stunts on motorcycles, operating vehicles while under the influence of alcohol, and driving at excessive speeds.
