BSF nabs 3 for bid to smuggle cattle to B’desh

Shillong: BSF Meghalaya Frontier, which is tasked with manning the 443 km stretch of the international border that the state shares with neighbouring Bangladesh, on Tuesday rescued 132 heads of cattle and nabbed three Indian smugglers in this connection in the Garo Hills region, reports Manosh Das.
The cattle, which were meant to be smuggled to Bangladesh, were rescued from a forest near the bordering village of Cherengpara, a statement issued by BSF on Wednesday said.The seized cattle and apprehended individuals were handed over to the police check post at Dimapara under the Gasuapara police station, it added.
