Kerala man kills wife, daughter before attempting to end own life

KOLLAM: In a shocking incident that unfolded in Paravur, located in the southern district of Kollam, Kerala, a man identified as Sreeju, aged 46, from Poothakkulam, allegedly took the lives of his wife and daughter by slitting their throats.
The tragic event occurred on Tuesday, and police suspect that Sreeju may have poisoned the victims before resorting to the brutal act.The deceased have been identified as Preetha, 39, and Sreenandha, 12, whose bodies were discovered in their residence this morning.
According to Paravur police, Sreeju also made an attempt on the life of his elder son, Sreerag, 17, before trying to end his own life. Both Sreeju and Sreerag were found in a critical state.
A police officer involved in the investigation suggested that financial hardships might have driven Sreeju, a mason by profession, to commit such a heinous crime and attempt suicide.
"Both the man and his son are under treatment. The son has been admitted to a nearby hospital, and the man was taken to the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College," he said.
The police have stated that more information regarding the case can only be shared after a thorough investigation has been conducted. The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, as people grapple with the tragic loss of lives and the distressing circumstances that may have led to such a devastating act.
