A newborn baby boy was found abandoned in the toilet of Bokaro express train on Wednesday. Passengers spotted the baby in the washbasin of the toilet and alerted the TTE, who reported it to higher authorities.

According to sources, passengers heard the cries of a child from the toilet of Dhanbad-Alleppey Bokaro express (13351) around 8.25 am.

According to sources, passengers heard the cries of a child from the toilet of Dhanbad-Alleppey Bokaro express (13351) around 8.25 am.

An unidentified woman delivered a baby in B-1 coach and left him in the toilet washbasin. The unusual incident came to light when passengers informed TTE V Brahmaji about the incident. By the time, the train had left Simhachalam station.
Brahmaji informed the train escorting staffer, Ramki of RPF. The RPF personnel immediately shifted the baby to Waltair division railway hospital in the city.
The health condition of the baby is said to be stable and he was later moved to KGH for further treatment. The baby would be handed over to childcare authorities, Waltair division senior commercial manager A Tripathi said.
