After ‘Jubilee’, Prosenjit Chatterjee plays a journalist in Hansal Mehta’s ‘Scoop’
After his nuanced performance as Srikant Roy in Vikramaditya Motwane’s ‘Jubilee’ Prosenjit Chatterjee is ready with his next big OTT outing. This time the celebrated actor will be seen in Hansal Mehta’s much-awaited series ‘Scoop’ co-starring Karishma Tanna, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, and Harman Baweja. The OTT show which will premiere on June 2 will see Prosenjit playing an investigative journalist who gets murdered.
In the series, inspired by Jigna Vora's biographical book ‘Behind the Bars In Byculla: My Days in Prison', Karishma Tanna plays the main lead role of another investigative journalist crime journalist Jagruti Pathak.
While working on a career-defining story Jagruti Pathak is caught between the powerful nexus of the police, the underworld, and the media, as she is charged with the murder of a fellow journalist (Prosenjit). How does a headline-writing journalist become the headline? That’s what forms the crux of the show. The story has been penned by Waikul and Mirat Trivedi and it will shed light on the powerful nexus of the police, underworld, and media.

It will be interesting to see Prosenjit in his second OTT outing, especially after raising the expectation bar with his stellar act in ‘Jubilee’. In the ten-part series, the popular Bengali actor played a fictional yesteryear film tycoon Srikant Roy, a ruthless, ambitious yet vulnerable movie maker who can go to any extent for the love of cinema. For Prosenjit who is hailed as the ‘industry’ in the Bengali film circle ‘Jubilee’ offered him a great chance to not just collaborate with Vikramaditya but also pay a rich tribute to those who built the Indian film industry brick by brick.
Closer home the seasoned actor is playing one of the leads in Srijit Mukherji's cop universe film 'Dasham Avatar' which will release during Durga Puja this year. The film will also see Anirban Bhattacharya, Jisshu Sengupta, and Subhashree Ganguly in key roles. He's also playing the lead in Subhrajit Mitra's historical drama 'Devi Chowdhurani'.
