An evening of soulful music, dance and tributes
Several prominent personalities from the city’s arts and culture sphere gathered at a five-star property recently for an awards show. The event, organised by Pt Ravi Kichlu’s foundation and a city club, felicitated classical singer Pt Ajoy Chakraborty, singer Usha Uthup, actress Subhashree Ganguly, magician PC Socar Junior and actor Shaheb Chattopadhyay at the do.

Post the awards ceremony, the recital by flautist Rakesh Chaurasia and sitarist Purbayan Chatterjee with Shubh Maharaj on the tabla mesmerised all.
Dancer Vishal Krishna also presented a Kathak act.

One of the highlights of the show was Usha rendering a few lines of the Bengali version of the song Srivalli from the film Pushpa: The Rise.

Addressing the audience, she said, “The song has a Tamil and a Hindi version. I thought it should have a Bengali version too.”
