Birthday special: When R Madhavan's wife Sarita supported him through a rough phase, was ready to move into a smaller house

One of the most loved and talented actors of the country, R. Madhavan turns 53 today (yes, we know he is ageing like fine wine). Even though the actor has done more work in the South than Bollywood, he remains as popular in B town as ever, delivering some of his most memorable performances in Hindi movies. However, there was a time when the actor went through his share of struggle, specially when his bilingual film Saala Khadoos was being made, which he also produced.

In a 2016 interview with a news portal, Madhavan said that he had put everything he had into the movie, which released in Tamil as Irudhi Suttru. He also had a tough time getting investors on board for the same, leading to his finances getting drained day by day. He added that at this point, wife Sarita was a huge source of support for him as she asked him not to worry and said that if needed, they will move into a small IBHK. The actor also said that Sarita had told the couple's son Vedaant that they won't be going on any holidays anytime soon. While she said so on the pretext of his studies, the reality was that they had no money.

Madhavan was last seen in Dhokha: Round D Corner with Khushali Kumar, Aparshakti Khurana and Darshan Kumar.
