Did you know the background score of Amitabh Bachchan's 'Satte Pe Satta' was originally a gargling sound?

Legendary music composer RD Burman was a revolutionary figure in Indian cinema. Over his three-decade career, he transformed the music of Indian movies. As we celebrate his 85th birth anniversary on June 27, it's a perfect time to remember a moment that highlights his genius.
RD Burman, widely known as Pancham Da, composed the music for the Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini starrer 'Satte Pe Satta' in 1982, which became a superhit.Songs like 'Pyaar Humein Kis Mod Pe Le Aaya' and 'Dilbar Mere' were considered magical works by the musician.
Surprisingly, in a scene where Big B’s character Babu comes out of the central jail and meets Amjad Khan’s character, there was a unique background score that is very familiar to all. This is actually the sound of a gargle done by singer Annette Pinto, as Burman asked her to do. He wanted an original and unique gargle sound for the scene and decided to create it with the real voice of the artist.

Directed by Raj N Sippy, 'Satte Pe Satta' also featured Ranjeeta Kaur, Shakti Kapoor, Sachin Pilgaonkar, Paintal, Kanwaljit Singh, and Amjad Khan in key roles. Gulshan Bawra was the lyricist.
In 2020, there were rumors that Farah Khan was remaking 'Satte Pe Satta' with producer Rohit Shetty. Actors Hrithik Roshan, Anushka Sharma, and Deepika Padukone were mentioned, but Farah Khan denied these rumors.
The late musician RD Burman won several awards and was married to singer Asha Bhosle. He passed away on January 4 after having two heart attacks.
