Exclusive: Sonakshi Sinha-Zaheer Iqbal Wedding! Dress code for the June 23 event revealed

“Whenever I get married, I would like to wear a classic red lehenga,” said Sonakshi Sinha in one of our interactions. Well, the actor’s wedding trousseau is a well-kept secret at this point in time, but we know what the theme for the main event of Sonakshi and boyfriend Zaheer Iqbal’s wedding is.
The duo is set to get married on June 23 and a grand event is being hosted at Bastian – At the Top in Mumbai.The intimate affair will have the couple’s close friends and family members attending the do. As per a source, the dress code for the event is “festive and formals”.
Sonakshi and Zaheer’s wedding festivities reportedly begin on June 22 at their family home in Juhu. While the wedding will take place in the morning of June 23, the reception will be held in the evening. The wedding invite of the couple is designed like a magazine cover that says – the rumours are true. It’s said that the wedding planning was on for a while and the family wanted to focus on it post the elections and now that Sonakshi’s father actor MP Shatrughan Sinha who contested from Asansol, West Bengal, won, the event will be like a double celebration.
Both Sonakshi and Zaheer who worked together in Double XL (2022) were launched by Salman Khan. While the actress made her debut with Dabangg opposite Salman, the latter had produced Zaheer’s debut film Notebook.
During her last outing at Bombay Times Fashion Week Sonakshi sported bridal wear as a showstopper for Vikram Phadnis. There have been several other opportunities where she got to flaunt bridal wear. When quizzed what kind of look she would like to flaunt in her own wedding, she had said, “I feel, I will be a very simple bride. Considering, for shows like these I get to wear such ensembles (and jewellery) so often that for my own wedding I would rather want to look very simple.”

When it comes to dressing up regally, the actress says she looks up to her mother, Poonam Sinha, who’s known to sport beautiful sarees and royal jewellery. “I just try to be as close to her as I can, because I feel, my mother is the most beautiful woman I have ever seen. Whenever someone says that you look like your mother, it feels like the biggest compliment,” she says.
