Bollywood Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has audiences bowled over by his stellar performance as Ashwatthama in director Nag Ashwin's 'Kalki 2898 AD'. Since the film's premiere on Thursday, June 27, social media has been abuzz with praise for the veteran actor who co-starred with Prabhas and Deepika Padukone.
Following the film's release, a behind-the-scenes (BTS) video has taken the internet by storm.
The clip showcases the Bollywood legend in action, performing his own stunt scenes. At the age of 82, the actor put his much younger co-star to shame by effortlessly pulling off some major action scenes.
The clip, which has been widely shared on social media, features Big B diligently practising his fight scenes off-camera before delivering a flawless performance when the cameras start rolling. From flawlessly swinging around his staff to nailing some mean punches, the actor did it all.

A fan, thoroughly impressed with Bachchan's comment to his craft, wrote, "His energy and dedication at 82 are absolutely inspiring." Another wrote, "Wow Amitab sir doing fights at 82 age too good!"

"An 82-year-old man carrying a 600 cr movie on his shoulders. What a show. @SrBachchan take a bow, sir.. From Bhaskar Banerjee to Ashvathama. Mr Bachchan is a acting school in himself," another commented.

Director Nag Ashwin also shared his appreciation for the film's stunt team for working in a way to bring out the best in each actor. He said, "It was good to see the team taking care of an actor like Mr Bachchan, without trying to strain him too much."

The director added, "This (team) worked best according to their body language and their capabilities. How they should not compromise on the scene at all and still keep safety and comfort level a priority."

It is unclear if Bachchan sustained his injury while doing these stunt scenes for the film. Last year, the veteran star was in the headlines when he suffered a muscle tear to his right rib cage. Informing fans of his injuries and health update, the actor shared, "In Hyderabad at the shoot for Project K, during an action shot, I have got injured .. rib cartilage popped broke and muscle tear to the right rib cage .. cancelled shoot .. did Doctor consult and scan by CT at the AIG Hospital in Hyderabad and flown back home .. strapping has been done and rest been advocated .. yes painful .. on movement and breathing .. will take some weeks they say before some normalisation will occur .. some medication is on also for pain (sic)."
'Kalki 2898 AD', is already off to a record-breaking start at the box office. The film is already scored among the highest opening-day collections.
