Sharmila Tagore recently shared her experience of wearing a bikini in the 1960s and revealed her husband, Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi's reaction to it.
In an interview on Kapil Sibal’s YouTube channel, Sharmila Tagore discussed her husband's reaction to her bikini photos in a magazine. She recalled that Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi was calm, supportive, and non-judgmental.
Being far away in London, he was unaware of the controversy in India, including questions raised in parliament. Sharmila mentioned that she was young, had a good figure, and chose to do the shoot willingly, despite being questioned by the cameraman.

Kapil also inquired about how Sharmila broke societal norms by living with Pataudi before marriage and how Pataudi romantically proposed to her in Paris. Sharmila shared that as an actor, she had a keen sense of timing and felt it was the right moment to marry after being with Tiger for some time. She didn't want to marry too late in life.

Sharmila also mentioned gifting a Mercedes to Pataudi before their marriage. She recalled that back then, a Mercedes cost Rs 1 lakh and required approval to purchase. Sharmila Tagore and Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi married in 1968 and remained together until his passing in 2011.

Sharmila Tagore was last seen in the Hotstar film Gulmohar, marking her return to movies after a 12-year hiatus. The film also featured Manoj Bajpayee, Amol Palekar, Simran, and Kaveri Seth.
