The first glimpse of Jaggesh-starrer
Raghavendra Stores shows the quirky subject of the
Santhosh Ananddram directorial which sees the director step away from serving commercial potboilers, and experiment with a topic that addresses issues faced by the seniors in the department of love and relationships.
“The story is set in the Malnad region, and is about a person from a conservative family.
It was necessary to present the story in a jovial manner, as it revolves around a topic that most of us shy away from addressing – that of late marriage,” explains Santhosh.
Of picking a comedy over his usual fare of commercial films, Santhosh tells us, “Post the stress and upheavals most of us have been through due to the pandemic, I felt we need to try and see the lighter side of life. This film may not come with the commercial hype like my other films, but this one is a feel-good family entertainer and I have been keen to explore different genres. However, the idea for this film was in place even before I directed the film Raajakumara. Things fell in place now at the right time, and I am glad I have Jaggesh playing the role as he is the only one who can handle the variations and layers of the lead character right through this story. Knowing each other for over 10 years has made working together so comfortable.
