After a two-year hiatus, actor
Dheekshith Shetty returns to the stage with
Iti Ninna Amrita, which will be staged in Bengaluru on Friday. The play, directed by
Usha Bhandary, is an adaptation of
Javed Siddiqui's Hindi play,
Tumhari Amrita, which was translated to Kannada by
Jayanth Kaikini.
Dheekshith, , who started his career in theatre, says, “Theatre has always been my first love because I picked up the nuances of acting in theatre which helped me make a mark in television and films.
I always wanted to perform in front of live audiences which is the ultimate joy, but owing to my film projects and COVID, I couldn’t perform for the last two years. The play revolves around only two characters which gave us room to adjust the timings. I feel acting in theatre is a refreshing change and it helps to polish our acting skills which come handy while performing in films.”
Dheekshith, who was last seen on the silver screen in
Dia will shortly begin shooting for a major portion of his upcoming film,
Sheegrameva Kalyana Prapthirasthu, in Chikkamagaluru. He will also shoot for the climactic sequence of KTM.
