As the release date of his new film 'Kotee' approaches, popular Kannada actor Dhananjay is eagerly gearing up for the premiere on June 14. Directed by Param, 'Kotee' is one of the most anticipated films in the Sandalwood industry this year.
Recently, in an interview with Hindustan Times, Dhananjay shared his insights on the evolution of the Kannada film industry and its current state.

Having spent a decade in Kannada cinema, Dhananjay has witnessed significant changes in the industry. He acknowledged that while there has been considerable growth, the industry is currently facing a challenging phase, much like other film industries across the country. Despite these challenges, Dhananjay remains hopeful about the future, particularly with the new talent entering the scene.
Dhananjay added that he came into the industry without any film background, yet he has made a name for himself as both an actor and a producer. This, he believes, shows the opportunities available in the Kannada film industry for newcomers. However, he stressed the need for even more fresh talent to sustain and revive the industry.

Dhananjay addressed a common sentiment that established stars should increase their film output to keep theatres and the industry thriving. While he acknowledged this viewpoint, he also highlighted that it is ultimately a personal choice for each star. To create a more sustainable ecosystem, he suggested the need for a talent hub. This hub would ensure a steady stream of good films, even when star-driven films are not being released.

Dhananjay shared that he is often approached by filmmakers seeking his support to present their films. While he cannot present every film, he makes it a point to watch as many as possible. Through this, he has observed a lot of promising work being done by new talents. This, he believes, indicates well for the industry's future.
In addition to his work in Kannada cinema, Dhananjay has also made his mark on the pan-India stage with his role as Jolly Reddy in the blockbuster film 'Pushpa: The Rule'.
