Aishwarya, Jai & Sshivada in a romantic thriller

Rohin Venkatesan, who made the romantic thriller Adhe Kangal and the horror comedy Petromax, is now giving the finishing touches to his third film, Theera Kaadhal. Starring Aishwarya Rajesh, Jai and Sshivada, the film is a triangular love story of sorts.
Says Rohin, “I wanted to do something in the drama, action or romance space after Adhe Kangal, but I ended up doing a horror comedy as I got an offer to direct one (Petromax), and I felt I should try it out as it was a remake.When I was looking for stories, I had got the contact of writer GR Surendarnath, who gave me one of his novels, and I liked a particular moment from it. The two of us borrowed three characters from that moment and developed a new script around them.”
He describes the film as “a simple, straightforward romance/relationship drama revolving around three characters” and adds, “The moments in the film will be relatable to everyone.” Mangalore will be one of the backdrops of the film.
The director first pitched the script to Aishwarya Rajesh, who liked it and came on board. She plays Aaranya, a CSR head, in the film. He then roped in Jai, who, he felt, would be right as Aishwarya’s pair. “Later, I felt Sshivada, whom I had worked with in Adhe Kangal, would be apt for the third character,” he says and adds, “All three characters will drive the story forward.”
The supporting cast includes child artiste Vridhhi Vishal, Amzath Khan and Abdool Lee. The technical team includes cinematographer Ravivarman Neelamagam, editor Prasanna GK and art director Ramu Thangaraj.
The music for the film is by Sidhu Kumar of Bachelor fame.
