The Tamil film 'Jailer' was released in theatres last year and the movie became a blockbuster. The action drama starred Rajinikanth, Vinayakan, Ramya Krishnan, Vasanth Ravi, Yogi Bau, Mirnaa Menon, Tamannah Bhatia, Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, Jackie Shroff, Kishore, Redin Kingsley, VTV Ganesh among others and the film's music was composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
The movie made more than Rs 600 crore at the box office.
A couple of months back, actress Mirnaa Menon revealed that director Nelson Dilipkumar is working on the script of 'Jailer 2'. Now, the movie director reveals that he is not sure if his next project is 'Jailer 2' and added that audiences need to wait for an official announcement. Addressing the media houses in a public event, Nelson Dilipkumar said that fans should wait for the official announcement.
It is still unclear if 'Jailer 2' will star Rajinikanth as the lead. The director is just amidst the scripting and more updates are awaited. Meanwhile, Rajinikanth after 'Jailer' is now shooting for 'Vettaiyan' with TJ Gnanvel. The movie stars Rajinikanth, Amitabh Bachchan, Rana Daggubati, Fahadh Faasil, Dushra Vijayan, Manju Warrier and Ritika Singh in lead roles. The movie's music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander. The film's shooting is completed by 75%.
Rajinikanth also has signed up for his next 'Thalaivar 171' with director Lokesh Kanagaraj.
