Nizhalgal Ravi's role in Ponniyin Selvan revealed

Acclaimed director Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan has been waiting for the lockdown to get over so that the team can resume shooting for the magnum opus. The stellar star cast includes Aishwarya Rai, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Vikram, Prabhu, and Jayaram among others. The latest is that veteran actor Nizhalgal Ravi is also part of the film and he will be playing the role of Chinna Pazhuvettarayar.
While it was earlier reported that Prabhu and Sarathkumar are touted to play Periya Pazhuvettarayar and Chinna Pazhuvettarayar respectively, looks like Nizhalgal Ravi has replaced Sarathkumar or the supreme star will be playing another role. Interestingly, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will be seen in a double role - playing both Nandini - the wife of Periya Pazhuvettaraiyar, and the role of Queen Mandakini Devi.
The team is reportedly waiting for the government permissions to resume shooting. While the film will be completed in one go, the movie will be releasing in two parts. The team is planning to resume shooting in October, and Ponniyin Selvan team has reportedly locked locations in Madhya Pradesh for the shooting. Jayaram will be playing the fictional character of Azhvarkidayar Nambi in the epic film.
The technical crew includes composer AR Rahman, cinematographer Ravi Varman and editor Sreekar Prasad.
